Connecticut's Governor Jonathon Trumbull House

Updated: Jun 2, 2019

Town of Lebanon, CT

The Governor Jonathon Trumball House is preserved by the Connecticut Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR). Trumball became Governor before the American Revolution but was the only colonial governor to support the cause. During the Revolutionary War, Governor Trumbull provided support to the Continental Army and the Connecticut Militia. Between 1775 and 1783, he held meetings of the Council of Safety at his store in Lebanon.  This store, a picturesque barn structure now known as the War Office, is open to the public and just down the street from the Trumball House. http://www.govtrumbullhousedar.org
